Driving, as you have probably figured out by now, is not that hard. There is hardly any challenge in it. It can’t be that difficult to get a license, either. Any average moron can get a license; that is why there are so many morons driving on the roads. But there are a few frustrations involved with driving… here is what happened to me today:
1) To the idiot in the van in front of me that properly stopped at the stop sign… thank you, that was correct. However it was not correct to not go when you clearly had plenty of chance to go. On top of that, you also went wrong when you proceeded to go when you clearly did not have an opening. You were lucky to avoid the accident this time, but next time you may not be so lucky.
The intersection in question here is that of Carroll Street and Wolf Ledges Parkway near the edge of the University of Akron. I’ll have to point out that this intersection is one where the road perpendicular and terminating into the other road has a stop sign and you can turn right or left. The other road has a stop sign going in one direction which gives the option to either turn right or go strait. The on-coming side of this road does not have a stop sign, though. Going in that direction, you have full right-of-way; you can go straight or turn onto the other road. It’s not a very common type of intersection, but that is how it is. I was at the stop sign which gave me the option to go strait or turn right.
2) To the person coming in the opposite direction that stopped where there was no stop sign… you need to learn the basic rules of the road; You stop when there is a stop sign, and you don’t stop when there is nothing causing the need to stop (such as a stop sign). Next time you make this mistake, though… why not actually begin going as soon as you realize that you are a dumb ass instead of waiting like 15 seconds while everyone sits there waiting for you to go. Then actually pick a lane when you turn onto a new street. It is also beneficial to you to pick the correct lane, that way you don’t hold up traffic further down the road when you suddenly realize you need to switch lanes. And if I felt you knew what you were doing, I might have let you over when you made nearly a complete stop in order to switch into my lane.
If everyone knew how to drive correctly, then everyone would be so much happier.
